Halotherapy, what is it and why should you try it?

Halotherapy originated over 100 years ago in Eastern Europe. In 1843 a Polish physician named Feliks Boczkowski promoted the idea of salt treatment after noticing that workers at salt mines, unlike other miners, did not have respiratory or lung problems. Halotherapy has since been recognised in Europe for the treatment of breathing and skin conditions. It is used throughout the world today with documented and consistently positive results.

Halotherapy is a safe, all natural, and drug-free alternative. It involves sitting in a room for 20-30 mins where tiny particles of pharmaceutical grade salt (sodium chloride) 0.3-0.5 microns are dispersed into the room. You stay fully clothed and it is a touchless therapy, so you will be in the room either on your own, or with someone from your bubble.

Dry salt is anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-microbial. It is not considered a replacement for pharmaceuticals but offers a holistic, drug free, natural way to promote better breathing, healthier skin, sounder sleep, improved physical fitness and overall wellness.

Covid has really highlighted the importance of not just staying healthy but supporting our respiratory health and immune system too. I have been using Halotherapy myself now for the past 3 years. There is a bit of story on my website about how I got into this and why I am so passionate about sharing the benefits with others, especially my local community.

I look forward to welcoming you to my garden salt room, located in Bookham, Surrey.
